A 2012 Library Journal Mover and Shaker, Amanda was a teacher for eight years and joined the St. Mary’s County Library system in 2009 as a Youth Services Supervisor after completing her Masters degree in Educational Leadership. She is an active member of ALA, ALSC, and PLA, as well as Maryland Library Association where she graduated from the Maryland Library Leadership Institute. Amanda has presented at state and national conferences on Active Learning Centers, Play Spaces and Storytimes.

Rose and Margaux have co-authored the book, Make A Big Impact @ Your School Board Meeting (Libraries Unlimited, 2012) as well as a forthcoming School Library Monthly article (Spring 2013) on the importance of communicating the Common Core to parents, public librarians and other key library stakeholders.
