3:05 – 3:25 Putting Common Core in Context: Amanda, Rose, and Margaux
3:25 – 3:55 Our discussion questions:
  1. What online resources are useful to support Common Core?
  2. How will Common Core change collection development in PublicLibraries? In School Libraries?
  3. How can Libraries support parents, teachers, students andcurriculum?
  4. How should Common Core affect the Library School Curriculum?
  5. How will online reference be affected by the Common Core?
  6. How will Common Core change the way we do reference interviews?

How this will work: Prepare to move about the room!
  • Each group gets their own colored marker.
  • Your group will be assigned to start at a station. Your group will get 2-5 minutes to discuss the topic/concept/question and write down responses.
  • Each group will then rotate to the next station. Read the new question and what others have written. Discuss with your group and add new information.
  • Continue this process until your group is back at its original station.
  • If time allows: We will wrap up the brainstorming session by having a discussion about the topics on each paper and reflect on the results.
